Ramses #3 The Battle of Kadesh by Christian Jacq

Ramses #4 The Lady of Abu Simbel by Christian Jacq

Ramses #5 Under the Western Acacia by Christian Jacq finishes off the Ramses series this month. You go from triumph at battle, to the mysteries of who is spying on who and for whom, to the tragic death of the Queen Nefertari and the subsequent turmoil of re-marrying someone who the enemy doesn't agree with; to peace and prosperity before Ramses' eventual death.

After spending a month in ancient Egypt I decided to go for something lighter, and that is where Wicked Autumn by G. M. Malliet comes in. A death in a sleepy village of the annoying upstart head of the WI and the priest turns out to be a former MI5 agent who can't help but investigate the death. This is part of a series which if I ever come across the books I'll definitely pick up.

While reading the above, I bought Lindsey Kelk's new book and so I couldn't wait to start reading it. We Were on a Break is an interesting read because you get both sides of the story as it were. You start with the female lead's thoughts, and then get the male leads thoughts; and this bounces back and forth throughout the book. It is not as disorientating as one might expect and I really enjoyed seeing both sides in this story.

  1. I'm really interested in reading Lindsey Kelk's 'We Were on a Break'. It sounds like a relatively light read but if you were to rate it out of 5 what would you give it?

    1. It's definitely a 5 out of 5. It is one of Kelk's best books to date.
